Gartner includes Positive Technologies’ MaxPatrol, PT Industrial Security Incident Manager, and PT SS7 Attack Discovery in its Market Guide for Operational Technology
Positive Technologies, a leading global provider of enterprise security solutions for vulnerability and compliance management, incident and threat analysis, and application protection, confirms it has been included in the Gartner Market Guide for Operational Technology (OT) for the first time. Security decision makers can use Gartner’s research to identify and evaluate OT security products.
Speaking about the report, Dan Tara, VP of Sales at Positive Technologies explained, "Organizations face a daily struggle to comprehend the complex web of legacy and emerging infrastructure and devices used within industrial control systems. Historically, operational technology products were used to monitor how these systems and devices performed, identify weaknesses, and make adjustments where necessary. However, cybersecurity wasn’t always foremost with Operational Technology products, and so they were inadequate to the task. An increasing frequency of attacks, with complex infrastructure that continues to evolve beyond the direct control of the IT team, means organizations need to not only determine what is being used, but its security posture. We’re thrilled to have Gartner recognize and include Positive Technologies in its research into Operation Technology, confirming our solutions’ ability to help with tackling this challenge."
In its report, Gartner predicts that spending on OT security will double by 2020, due to increasing attacks on critical industrial infrastructure and subsequent regulatory responses.
Gartner describes Positive Technologies’ MaxPatrol as an assessment product for OT networks; PT Industrial Security Incident Manager (PT ISIM) as an OT incident monitoring and analysis component; and PT SS7 Attack Discovery (PT SS7 AD) as a component that provides anomaly detection and response over SS7 networks.
With features not found in other solutions, Positive Technologies’ MaxPatrol, PT Industrial Security Incident Manager, and PT SS7 Attack Discovery provide a comprehensive and modern answer to today’s operational technology security challenges. Working seamlessly across the entire business, organizations can use Positive Technologies’ solutions to identify and address vulnerabilities and configuration defects within applications, databases, networks, and industrial control systems to strengthen the organization’s security posture and prevent cybercriminals finding a way in.
